Sgt. W. Botterill, RAF
of 420 Squadron was killed on
February 24/25, 1944 when Halifax III LW-427, coded PT-C
was shot down by a Nightfighter while on an attack of Schweinfurt.
The other crewmembers of this Halifax
were:

Sgt. H. Hirst, RCAF,
F/Sgt. R. Gile, USAAF,
F/Sgt. D. Richardson, RCAF,
P/O M. Knight, RCAF,
Sgt. D. Crawley, RCAF
All were killed.
