Pilot Officer Gay, Pilot, 2nd from the left, and Pilot Officer Swartz, the rear gunner,
lost their lives when their Lancaster was shot down near Caudebec-en-Caux.

They were on an attack of the rail yards at Villeneuve St. Georges on the night of July 4/5,1944.
