F/O J. Collver RCAF, Pilot of Halifax III MZ-589 coded SE-H of 431 Squadron, was killed while
on operations to Hamburg on July 28/29, 1944, when  this aircraft was lost without a trace.
F/O Collver was only 19 years old at the time of his death. He was one of the youngest pilots
killed while serving with 6 Group.

Also killed were Sgt W. Desborough RAF, Flt Engineer F/O N. Bailey RCAF, Navigator;
F/O M. MacFarlane RCAF, Bomb Aimer; Sgt W. Sorel RCAF, Wireless Op;
Sgt. R. Leman RCAF, Mid-upper Gunner; and P/O N. Jermey RCAF, Rear Gunner.
