19 Halifaxes from 408 and 419 Squadrons were joined by 15 Wellingtons from 426, 427, and 429 Squadrons on a mining operation to the Frisian Islands, Texel, and Brest. The crews were over the gardens at between 500 and 2,000 feet, sowing 52@1500 lb mines.
F/Sgt F. Leaver and Sgt D. Brooke from 408 Squadron returned early as their navigation aids were u/s.
F/Sgt A. Bell, Sgt R. Harrison, P/O J. Dickson, F/O C. MacIntosh, F/O C. Vaillancourt, and F/Sgt J. Palmer from 419 Squadron returned early as they could not find the pinpoint due to poor weather.
Sgt I. Runciman and S/Ldr F. Parker from 426 Squadron returned early
as they could not find the pinpoint due to poor weather.
Sgt W. Meaden from 427 squadron returned early as an engine was u/s.
They landed safely at base on one engine.
