6 Halifaxes from 429 squadron were ordered on a mining operation to La Rochelle. The crews were over the garden at between 8,000 and 9,000 feet, sowing 24@1500 lb mines. 

F/Lt L. Neilly was hit by flak, there were holes in the fuselage and rudders.
