1 Lancaster and 2 Halifaxes from 419 and 434 squadrons were ordered out on a sea search. 

F/O L. Sparling from 419 squadron was not successful and returned to base.

F/O L. Browning and P/O M. Isenberg from 434 squadron located the dinghy at 14:30 and started circling around until the search and rescue launch was on its way. They found one of their squadron mates, F/O J. Wagman and crew who had ditched returning from Kiel the previous night.
