24 Wellingtons from 420, 424 and 425 Squadrons were ordered on a mining operation to the Frisian Islands and Brest. The crews were over the garden at between 500 and 1,000 feet, sowing 38@1500 lb mines.

Sgt J. Clary from 420 Squadron returned early as they were unable to find the pinpoint due to poor weather.
Sgt G. Perks and S/Ldr L. Smith returned early as their navigation aids were u/s.
F/Sgt W. Horborenko returned early as they were unable to find the pinpoint. They landed at Pershore on return.

Sgt J. Lamontagne from 425 Squadron returned early as the intercom was u/s.
