24 Halifaxes from 408 and 419 Squadrons were joined by 56 Wellingtons from 420, 424, 425, 426, 427, 428, and 429 Squadrons on an attack at Lorient. The crews were over the target at between 12,000 and 18,000 feet, releasing 206,000 lbs of high explosives and 137,000 lbs of incendiaries. According to reports severe damage again was caused on this attack.

being u/s.
Sgt G. Cooke, F/Sgt J. Thomson, and Sgt P. Cozens from 420 Squadron landed at Moreton-in-the-Marsh on return.
Sgt A. Grout from 424 Squadron was hit by flak, not serious, they landed
at Beaulieu on return.
W/O2 P. Maries from 426 Squadron was hit by flak, there was a 2 foot
square hole in the port wing. They landed safely at Hurn.
Sgt A. Rodwell from 427 Squadron landed at Hemswell on return.
