    6 Halifaxes from 408 and 419 Squadrons were joined by 15 Wellingtons from 424, 427, 428, and 429 Squadrons on a mining operation to the Frisian Islands. The crews were over the garden at between 700 and 2,000 feet, sowing 27@1500 lb mines.

    Sgt R. Harrison from 419 Squadron hit a tree on takeoff. The port wing, propellers, and engine cowlings were damaged. The port outer engine quit, the load was jettisoned, and the crew landed safely at base on 3 engines.

    Sgt L. Straight from 428 Squadron returned without mining as they could not find the pinpoint due to poor weather.
    Sgt D. Shears returned without mining as they could not find the pinpoint due to poor weather.

    Sgt E. Willey, Sgt G. Debussac, F/O B. Rawson, and Sgt S. Hanan from 429 Squadron returned without mining as they could not find the pinpoint due to poor weather.
