February 6/7, 1943
    9 Halifaxes from 408 and 419 Squadron were joined by 28 Wellingtons from 420, 424, 425, 426, 427, and 428 Squadron on a mining operation. The crews were over the garden at between 700 and 1,000 feet, sowing 50@1500 lb mines.

    All crews from 420 Squadron returned as they could not find the pin-point due to poor weather.

    Sgt R. Caldwell from 424 Squadron had both generators fail on return. Both propellers and the nose were damaged on landing. There were no injuries to the crew.
    P/O E. Cox RCAF and crew, flying Wellington III  BJ-658 coded QB-Q, failed to return from this operation.

    P/O J. Poirier RCAF and crew from 425 Squadron, flying Wellington III  Z-1742 coded KW-C, from 425 Squadron failed to return from this operation.

    All were killed.

    Sgt C. Pearce from 428 Squadron returned without mining as they were unable to find the pinpoint due to poor weather.
    Sgt R. Buckham returned early as they were hit by flak and unable to find the pinpoint due to poor weather.
    Sgt W. Harris returned early as they were attacked by an enemy aircraft and had to jettison the mines.
