4 Wellingtons from 420 and 424 Squadrons were ordered on a mining operation to Texel. The crews were over the garden at between 400 and 700 feet, sowing 14@1500 lb mines.

P/O S. Dunn from 420 Squadron returned without mining as they were not able to find the pinpoint due to poor weather.
S/Ldr L. Smith was hit by lightning, there was a large rip in the fabric on the fuselage.
