11 Halifaxes from 419 and 428 squadron were ordered on a mining operation to La Rochelle. The crews were over the garden at 15,000 feet, sowing 18@1500 lb mines.

F/Lt. D. Laidlaw from 419 squadron returned early as the navigation aids were u/s.
F/Sgt. R. McIvor returned early as the navigation aids were u/s.
F/O L. Lucas and crew, flying Halifax II LW-325 coded VR-H, was in combat with an FW-190. There was no noted damage to the FW-190 and no damage sustained to the Halifax.
