February 5/6, 1944
11 Halifaxes from 419 and 428 squadrons were ordered on a mining operation
to Oslo. The crews were over the garden at 15,000 feet, sowing 30@1500
lb mines.
F/O N. Brown from 428 Squadron returned early as the bomb aimer's panel
was u/s.
P/O D. Curley had 2 engines u/s on return. They landed safely at base
on 2 engines.
P/O J. Sinclair was hit by flak, port inner engine was u/s and there
were holes in the port wing. They landed safely at base on 3 engines.
