    100 Halifaxes from 408, 415, 420, 425, 426, 427, 429, and 432 Squadrons were ordered to attack the Coking plant at Osterfeld. The crews were over the target at between 17,000 and 20,000 feet, releasing 602,000 lbs of high explosives. According to reports, the attack was scattered with little damage.

    F/Lt H. Bracken from 408 Squadron had the port inner u/s outbound. They bombed and returned safely to base on 3 engines.

    F/Lt C. Piper from 415 Squadron returned early as the hydraulics were u/s.

    F/O J. Evans from 425 Squadron was hit by flak, not serious.

    P/O D. Black from 426 Squadron returned early as the stbd outer was u/s. They landed safely at base on 3 engines.
    F/O R. Swift and crew, flying Halifax VII NP-740 coded OW-P, were attacked by an ME-109, some strikes were seen.

    F/Lt J. Creeper from 429 Squadron had the port inner go u/s outbound. They bombed and returned safely to base on 3 engines.

    F/Lt A. Bews from 432 Squadron returned early as the stbd inner was u/s. They landed safely at base on 3 engines.
     
     

    While some crews went to Osterfeld, 29 Halifaxes from 408, 415, 420, 425, 426, and 432 Squadrons were joined by 71 Lancasters from 419, 424, 428, 431, 433, and 434 Squadrons on an attack at Bonn. The crews were over the target at between 18,500 and 20,000 feet, releasing 312,000 lbs of high explosives and 568,000 lbs of incendiaries. According to reports, the attack was scattered with little damage.

    F/Lt A. Bossenberry from 408 Squadron landed at Chipping Warden on return due to a fuel shortage.

    W/O1 L. Russell from 415 squadron had the port outer u/s on return. They landed safely at base on 3 engines.

    F/Lt J. Barlow RCAF and crew from 419 Squadron, flying Lancaster X KB-787 coded VR-M, failed to return from this operation.

     6 crew were killed after they collided with Lancaster I PA-219 of 433 Squadron.

    P/O M. Callahan from 420 Squadron landed at Horham on return.

    F/Lt J. Thomas from 424 Squadron bombed from 14,000 feet as the stbd outer was u/s. They returned safely to base on 3 engines.
    F/O K. MacDonald and crew, flying Lancaster I ME-456 coded QB-K, had 3 engines quit outbound. They were able to restart them and then were attacked by an ME-109, there was no claim or damage.

    F/O G. Chabot from 425 Squadron returned early as the stbd inner was u/s. They landed safely at base on 3 engines.
    F/Sgt A. Temple landed at Woodbridge on return.

    F/Lt G. Percival from 431 Squadron had the load hung up over the target.

    P/O J. Daly from 432 Squadron landed at Linton on Ouse due to a fuel shortage.

    F/O J. Farrell from 433 Squadron was hit by flak, not serious.
    F/Lt N. Mara RCAF and crew, flying Lancaster I PA-219 coded BM-M, failed to return from this operation.

    12 Halifaxes from 427 and 429 Squadrons were ordered on a mining operation to Wilhelmshaven. The crews were over the garden at 15,000 feet, sowing 48@1800 lb mines.

    All crews returned safely to base.
