    Six Wellington IIIs from 427 Squadron have the distinction of making the first operation under 6 Group control. The crews were over the garden  from between 500 to 700 feet, sowing 6@1500 lb mines. Mines were dropped at 52:48N-04:41E and 52:41N-04:34E.

    Six the crews from 427 Squadron departed base at between 17:47 and 18:00, returning at between 22:48 and 23:06.                                                                                                  
    Sgt G. Taylor and crew, flying Wellington III  Z-1604 coded ZL-U, returned without mining at 22:34, as they could not find the pinpoint due to poor weather.
    W/Cdr D. Burnside and crew, flying Wellington III  BK-164 coded ZL-E,  returned without mining at 21:30 as they could not find the pinpoint due to poor weather.
    Sgt E. Williams and crew, flying Wellington III  Z-1626 coded ZL-G,  returned without mining at 21:38 as they could not find the pinpoint due to bad weather.  
    Sgt B. Chambers and crew, flying Wellington III  BK-389 coded ZL-L, were hit by flak resulting in a one foot square hole in the starboard wing.
