46 Lancasters from 408, 426, and 432 Squadrons were ordered to attack Brunswick. The crews were over the target at between 20,000 and 22,000 feet, releasing 259,000 lbs of incendiaries and 136, 000 lbs of high explosives. According to reports the attack was scattered.

was sick.

S/Ldr W. Strachan and crew from 432 Squadron, flying Lancaster II LL-636
coded QO-B, were attacked by an FW-200 and an ME-109, there were strikes
seen on the FW-200. They had the port rudder, tail plane, flaps and fuselage
riddled, the tire was flat and the port inner engine was damaged.
