    18 Halifaxes from 419 and 428 squadrons were ordered on a mining operation to Brest. The crews were over the garden at between 14,000 and 15,000 feet, sowing 44@1500 lb mines.

    F/Lt. A. Hermitage from 419 squadron returned early, as they could not find the pinpoint.
    F/Sgt. W. Krantz returned early as they could not find the pinpoint. They landed at Gratton on return due to a fuel shortage.
