    30 Lancasters from 419, 428, 431, and 434 were ordered to attack Munich. The crews were over the target at between 16,000 to 21,000 feet, releasing 89,000 lbs of high explosives and 130,000 lbs of incendiaries. According to reports the central area of the city was hit and some industrial areas being severely damaged. This was the last major attack on Munich.

    F/Lt. W. Osborn from 419 squadron had the stbd inner go u/s on return. They landed safely at Swinderby on 3 engines.
    F/O N. Vatne, F/Lt. A. Warner, and F/Lt. J. Barlow landed at Swinderby on return.

    F/L R. Swartz from 428 squadron was hit by flak, not serious. They landed at Swinderby on return. 
    F/O W. Ashby landed at Swinderby on return.

    F/O N. MacLeod and crew from 431 Squadron, flying Lancaster KB-796 coded SE-R, were attacked by a JU-88. The port outer was hit and caught fire, hydraulics and oxygen u/s, both turrets u/s, and the bomb bay holed. They landed safely at Manston on 3 engines.
    F/O S. Sorenson, F/O B. Kaplansky, S/Ldr H. Kay, F/O A. Huchala, P/O D. Rombough, F/O D. Hagar, F/O H. Williamson, and F/O J. Lightbown landed at Winthorpe on return.

    P/O F. Hart from 434 Squadron returned early as the radios were u/s.
    F/O C. Alger was hit by flak, there were holes in the windscreen and mid-upper turret. They landed at Wigsley on return.
    F/O V. Barr, F/Lt P. Burden, W/Cdr A. Blackburn, F/O L. Coulter, F/O I. Andres, F/Lt A. Kiehlbauch, P/O C. Ferris, F/Lt T. Coghlan, and F/Lt G. Eccelstone crews landed at Wigsley on return.
