    11 Halifaxes from 420, 425, 426, 431, 432, and 434 were ordered on an operation to the V-1 launching site at Biennais. The crews were over the target at between 12,000 and 14,000 feet, releasing 797,000 lbs of high explosives. According to reports, the target was cloud covered.

    P/O A. Caine from 420 squadron had both port engines fail on the return trip. They crash landed Halifax III, LW-421 coded PT-K, in a field near Linton on Ouse killing a number of cattle. The pilot, P/O Caine, RCAF, and Flt/Eng. Sgt. Monument, RAF, were injured. The rest of the crew were ok.

    F/Lt. R. Jarman from 426 squadron had the port inner u/s over the target. They returned safely to base on 3 engines.

    F/O W. Dumas from 434 squadron returned early as the stbd outer was u/s. They landed safely at base on 3 engines.
