    6 Lancasters from 424, 427, and 433 squadrons plus 3 Halifaxes from 429 squadron were ordered on a mining operation to the Kattegat. The crews were over the garden at 8,000 feet, sowing 42@1850 lb mines.

    F/Lt J. Creeper from 429 squadron returned early due to the navigation aids being u/s.

    P/O J. Farrell, RCAF and crew from 433 squadron, flying Lancaster I NG-233, coded BM-E, failed to return from this operation.
