November 24/25, 1944

    13 Halifaxes from 424, 427, 429, and 433 squadrons were ordered on a mining operation to the Kattegat. The crews were over the garden at between 500 and 15,000 feet, sowing 44@1500 lb mines.

    F/Lt F. Aldworth, F/O D. Chance, F/O F. Pearson, and F/O R. Burns from 424 Squadron landed at Kinloss on return.

    F/O W. Britton from 427 squadron returned early as the navigation aids were u/s. The landed at Banff.
    P/O R. McKenney did not release his mines as they could not find the pinpoint. They landed at Dallachy on return.
    F/O D. Hepburn and F/Lt. O. Gorman landed at Kinloss on return.
    F/Lt. J. Hardy, RCAF, and crew, flying Halifax III MZ-304 coded ZL-H crashed just off shore at Kingston in Scotland.
