    6 Halifaxes from 424 squadron were ordered on a mining operation to Oslo. The crews were over the garden at 11,000 feet, sowing 8@1500 lb mines.

    F/O F. Pearson returned early as they were unable to raise the undercarriage.
    F/Lt J. Partridge returned without mining after they were it by flak and severe icing.
    S/Ldr A. Fentiman returned without mining due to severe icing and they were unable to find the pinpoint.
    F/O W. Palidwar returned early due to severe icing. They landed safely at Great Orton on return.
