This monument of Canadian granite, and the avenue of oaks and maples
between this village and the old aerodrome are, with honoured remembrance
to their fallen comrades, a memorial to those who served in these Royal
Canadian Air Force Squadrons, to the station staff at Tholthorpe during
the Second World War, and to the many citizens of this community who supported
them. May their courage and devotion to duty in the cause of Freedom, ever
be remembered. Dedicated by the people of Tholthorpe and the surviving
veterans. June 7,
