April 17/18, 1944



    12 Halifaxes from 428 squadron were ordered on a mining operation to Kiel Bay. The crews were over the garden at 15,000 feet, sowing 24@1500 lb mines.

    All crews departed base at between 20:26 and 20:38, they were over the garden at betyween 23:32 and 23:38, returning to base at between 02:12 and 02:39.

    P/O G. Lillico, RCAF and crew, flying Halifax II JN-973 coded NA-U, failed to return from this operation.
