22 Halifaxes from 419 and 434 squadron were ordered on a mining operation to the Frisian Islands. The crews were over the garden at 6000 feet, sowing 50@1000 lb and 22@1500 lb mines.

F/Sgt. A. Hegseth from 434 squadron returned early as the navigation aids were u/s.
W/O2 M. Laffin landed at topcliffe on return.
