    8 Halifaxes from 408 and 427 Squadrons were joined by 12 Wellingtons from 429, 431, and 432 Squadrons on a mining operation to Brest, St. Nazaire, and the Frisian Islands. The crews were over the gardens at between 500 and 3,000 feet, sowing 44@1500 lb mines.

    All crews from 408 Squadron landed at Colerne, Beaulieu, or Thorney Island on return due to poor weather at base.

    Sgt R. Henry from 427 Squadron landed at Beaulieu on return due to poor weather at base.
    P/O E. Williams landed at Lyneham due to poor weather at base.
    P/O D. Arnot’s gunners fired at a JU-88, there was no claim.

    W/O K. Mills from 429 Squadron landed at Lyneham on return due to a fuel shortage.
    Sgt H. Floren had the stbd tire blow on landing, the under carriage collapsed and both propellers were broken. The crew was not injured.

    All crews from 431 Squadron landed at Colerne on return due to poor weather at base.

    Sgt W. Taylor from 432 Squadron returned without mining as they could not find the pinpoint.
