8 Wellingtons from 429 and 432 Squadrons were ordered on a mining operation to Brest. The crews were over the garden at between 700 and 1,000 feet, sowing 10@1500 lb mines.

W/O K. Mills from 429 Squadron returned without mining as they could not find the pinpoint.
F/Lt B. Rawson was hit by flak, the hydraulics were u/s and the bomb doors bent.
Sgt G. Clark was hit by flak, not serious.

Sgt J. Wright and Sgt W. Meaden from 432 squadron returned early as they could not find the pinpoint.
