44 Lancasters from 408 and 419 Squadron were joined by 204 Halifaxes from 420, 424, 425, 426, 427, 428, 429, 431, 432, 433, and 434 Squadrons on attacks of road and rail centres at Coutances and Conde sur Noireau. The crews were over the targets at between 2,000 and 4,000 feet, releasing 1,976,000 lbs of high explosives.
F/Lt F. Rader from 408 Squadron did not bomb as the load hung up over
the target. They landed safely at Enstone on return.

bombed and landed safely at Wellesbourne Mountford on 3 engines.
P/O C. Jones from 425 Squadron had the port inner u/s on return. They
landed safely at base on 3 engines.
F/Sgt C. Selfe RCAF and crew from 426 Squadron flying, Halifax III LW-377 coded OW-G, was hit by falling bombs over the target.
